In partnership with Aware and Inspire, award winning theatre company, Big Telly are excited to launch ‘THE LIVING ROOM’.  A brand new, immersive experience designed to get the local and the global talking.

The Living Room is FREE, outdoors, and running from 25th July – 5th August in Ballymoney, Ballymena, Maghera, Larne, Portstewart, Garvagh and Bushmills. You can either be our guest IN PERSON or ONLINE by dropping into our virtual venue Brick Moon.

IN PERSON

The Living Room has two chatty hosts who will be delighted to welcome you in for conversation and craic. It’s a humble home, with somewhere to sit and a TV to watch. A TV that talks back!

ONLINE

When you click on www.brick-moon.com you can choose to join The Living Room as a fly on the wall or on the TV, where you can talk to the people inside. Daily between 2pm-4pm BST.

The Living Room is a pop up, domestic, durational installation which is in each location one day at a time. Audiences choose how much or how little they interact. The objective is to create community connections, social cohesion and reduce loneliness locally, but also on a global level, connecting audiences in Ballymena with audiences in Boston.

We are working with mental health charities Aware and Inspire to provide support for those in the community who may be vulnerable and to ensure the correct safeguarding/duty of care is provided.

Having developed a well-established and respected reputation over the last 36 years for innovation and accessibility, Northern Ireland’s Big Telly Theatre has earned world-leading status in live and digital theatre production over the course of the pandemic. The company has produced innovative, boundary breaking works during lockdown including Macbeth, Right Up Your Street and Dear World. Now coming off the back of an off Broadway, critically acclaimed production, the company are returning to their roots and back to hijacking the high street.

This project is proudly supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (Rural Engagement Programme), Enkalon, Halifax Foundation & Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.

A pop up, pop in sort of place for conversation, connection and craic.
