Right Up Your Street is a live action piece of game-theatre, with everyone in their own homes, working together to make the story come alive. Participants stay in touch via Whatsapp, exchanging vital information about suspicious activity glimpsed through their windows, or wrongs that they can help put right. No one knows everything and so participants work together, guided by actors and other artists to piece together a story, using a system of codes involving flashing lights, twitching curtains and hidden signs. The doorbell or phone may ring, a note may come through the letterbox. This project was successfully carried out during severe lockdown restrictions, in a number of neighbourhoods in Portrush, Garvagh, Aghadowey and Moneydig between Halloween 2020 and March 2021.
